Guest satisfaction starts with a properly operating TV; one that does not land them on an inoperable channel or with a loud volume from a previous guest. Cloning TVs in a hospitality environment allows us to set baseline parameters to ensure that the same settings are deployed to each TV for a consistent, seamless experience. This will help ensure guest satisfaction for each stay. The instructions below will teach how to create a clone file and use it on subsequent TVs throughout each property.

Important Settings

*Consult the TV or manufacture’s manual to reference the installer menu settings pertinent to that TV

Volume
*Roomnet typically recommends setting the volume between 12-14

  • Find a comfortable volume
  • Approve with manager
  • Set accordingly for TV settings when building a clone file

HDMI CEC is known as Simplink on LG TV
*Roomnet typically recommends disabling this setting

  • If this setting is not turned off, turning off the TV will also turn off the Apple TV
  • Creates poor guest experience and false maintenance requests

Channel Lock
*Roomnet typically locks the TV to the HDMI input of the Apple TV

  • When a new guest turns on the TV, it is always on the Apple TV input

Channel Inputs
*Roomnet typically turns off all channel inputs

  • This minimizes the ability of guests to plug in foreign devices

Start Aux Source
*ROOMNET recommends setting to HDMI option

  •  Sets the starting Aux source for the TV. Set this to 3 for HDMI 1.
